Speech & Debate at All Saints

Ready Set Debate will be hosting speech and debate clubs at All Saints Catholic School in Dallas, Texas, starting soon! Club members will learn a variety of important life skills, such as speaking clearly and confidently, managing meetings, organizing speeches, researching, citing evidence, developing slide presentations, providing constructive feedback to others, analyzing arguments, planning in advance, and more.

The clubs will be led by veteran speech and debate coach Price Morgan, who holds a national championship in college debate, and whose students from elementary school through college have achieved high rankings in competition.  

Club options

Novice Club (Grades 3-5)

Meets Tuesdays, 3:30pm-5pm • Membership dues: $50 basic materials & registration fee + $72 per month

Members focus on developing their core public speaking  and meeting management skills. They are encouraged to prepare for and compete in junior speech tournaments; separate tournament registration fees generally apply. Students who graduate through “levels” in the program (about once per every 6 months of membership) should purchase an updated student handbook for their new level, at a nominal cost. 

Varsity Club (Grades 6-8)

Meets Thursdays, 3:30pm-5:30pm • Membership dues: $50 materials & registration fee + $100 per month

Members focus on developing a strong foundation in argumentation theory, research skills, and persuasive writing. Typical meetings will involve practice debates and extensive peer and coach feedback. They are encouraged to prepare for and compete in speech & debate tournaments; separate tournament registration fees generally apply.
